The Interdepartmental Research Centre for Alternative and Renewable Energies (Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca per le Energie Alternative e Rinnovabili or CREAR) proposes to promote, sustain, co-ordinate and develop interdisciplinary research activities as well as training programs in the sector of renewable energy. This is done from an engineering, chemical, agro-forestry and geological point of view, with consideration also of economic and sociological aspects. It undertakes initiatives for scientific education and for interdisciplinary collaboration in the center's sectors of interest as well as national and international conventions to help the center achieve its goals.
