Polytechnic University of Milan (Politecnico di Milano) is a state university focusing on science and technology, established on 29 November 1863. The university produces engineers, architects and industrial designers. It awards academic qualifications of degree and masters degree and is the base for several doctorate and masters courses. In 2007, the university was ranking among the best universities in the world for technology by Top Universities, research body of Times Higher Education. There are 38,000 students currently enrolled.

Energy & Environment Engineering project - This research line focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of environmental conform and quality in the home and is split into different areas of interest. They include one dedicated to the environment and energy systems of buildings, which includes measurement for a rational use of energy, especially with solar systems. Another area is dedicated to the impact on emissions from energy generation in urban areas.
