Sustainable Development
Energy Efficiency
"PII on Energy Efficiency". The PII on Energy Efficiency seeks to boost the competitiveness of the industrial system by improving the country’s energy efficiency, in other words by achieving energy savings in production processes and in final uses and exploiting renewable energy sources so as to improve energy security, even in view of environmental sustainability. As regards the technological side of energy efficiency, technological/productive targets have been identified in order to: ‘- trigger processes for the rapid take-up of industrial activities that are able to bring new energy-generation products and technologies to market; - support the reorganization of existing industrial segments around more efficient products, which are required in the new energy context; - encourage upgrades to production cycles with the aim of reducing their energy intensity.
Sustainable Transportation
General
PII on Sustainable Mobility aims to encourage the development of new products and technologically innovative solutions that can meet the need for more efficient mobility and transportation of people and goods; they should also conform better to environmental and social constraints, thereby boosting the competitive capacity of the industrial sectors involved.
