Rome's first technology hub, the Tecnopolo Tiburtino is an innovative project whose aim is to set up an organized system that's able to attract highly technological entrepreneurial initiatives, reviving advanced industrial and post-industrial sectors. Following investments of about 300 million euros, there are now about 60 companies that have chosen to be based here, creating about 3,000 jobs, both direct and indirect. When fully functional, the investments will amount to more than 600 million euros, which will bring about a substantial increase in the number of companies located here and employees.

- A demonstration photovoltaic installation is operating at the Tecnopolo Tiburtino. - "CHOSE" (Center for Hybrid and Organic Solar Energy) LABORATORIES: these are the new research and technological development laboratories of the organic solar center, financed by the Lazio regional government and which house a pilot production line for organic solar cells. The organic solar center is one of three centers of excellence worldwide for research into new solar photovoltaic cells (along with those in Japan and Germany).

Services
There is a photovoltaic plant that was installed with a contribution from the Ministry for the Environment and that reduces emissions by about 6,600 KgCO 2 eq/year. Investments are planned for the installation of a centralized tricogeneration plant (combined production system for electricity and heat), which will provide district heating and cooling to all the companies located at the park.
