The project for Venice's VEGA science and technology park started in 1993 with the establishment of the company and now covers four areas for a total of 35 hectares with the aim of beginning a process of urban and environmental regeneration in the industrial area of Porto Marghera, one of Europe's biggest. As of today and in only eight years, VEGA has transformed the first 10 hectares with remediation activities, urbanization and building for a total of 63,000 sq m. This has involved the restructuring of splendid examples of industrial architecture and attracted more than 120 innovative companies to the area, supporting the employment of about 1,000 people and contributing to the economic, cultural and social growth of the Venetian territory and of the entire Veneto region.
